“The Only Thing Between Talent and Success is Perseverance”

Have I got the best ever excuse for not writing a blog for nearly a year, because I know you are all wondering where these really informative pieces have been.

Well the website was hacked, that’s right it was hacked and everything had to be erased and re-booted and whatever else the nice people at Concise Creative people do to fix the site and whoever did hack it completely f**ed it right up.

But you know what, I am going to take it as a positive because now in my own little world, I imagined that some large US or Chinese spy agency has hacked into it. They were probably looking to gain really important information like finding out that ET had finally made it home because I am guessing it would have taken him at least 30 Earth years to get back to his planet.

However in ET time I suspect it only took a couple of Earth hours and that was including stopping at one of those large galaxy roadhouses that sell anything from pies to spare parts for the Empires Death Star.

So now that I feel better about why my website was hacked I am now going to talk music.

First things first, we have new some new fans and we would again like to thank you all for taking time to listen and then to become a fan. For those regulars as you know we are not getting normal airplay through the normal sources, but luckily for us there is the thing called internet.

We have signed up to Radio Airplay and through them our music has been able to travel through to all parts of the globe . To say it is a privilege that complete strangers have liked one or a couple of songs to fan up is an understatement.

I was also thinking (and of course you can tell me to f*** off ) that the internet radio is the NEW form of Punk, because in it’s true form punk is about the individual. The true PUNKS that followed bands like Black Flag, Bad Brains, Sex Pistols were dressed with what they could afford or what they had on offer. They couldn’t give two f***** what people thought of them and they belonged to no special group or culture. Yes I know punk was a culture but it originated from those who wanted to be themselves.

For me this is what Punk means, and I would say the same thing if the music we produced was like Jack Johnson or even Country and Western.

I see the internet radio as the same thing. You no longer need to wait for a certain genre you like to come on the mainstream radio because you make your own genre and you own what you want to listen to. Even though you are still being fed with what is being on offer by the bands you have the choice, the listener controls their own content and it is no longer governed by what the line of tunes the director of music at the station wants to go with. Even though the world is completely globalised, the internet radio is like a farmers market with small producers giving out samples of their wares without the constraints of having to sell themselves to the middle man.

So now we we would like to say hello to our new fans since the breakdown of the Website and the inception of us finding Radio Airplay.

And I hope without sounding “WE LOVES YOUS ALL”, people who sign up gives us boost. The reason being and to take all the romance out of music, it is f*****ing hard work to record an album without using someones elses big budget. So every time someone presses YES to be a fan that two dollars we throw into the piggy bank so we can finish off the songs makes it all worth it. We still have six or seven to go, which need second guitars, vocals etc.

We are recording at a place called Jericho Music, under the watchful ear of a guy by the name of Jerry Freedman, who once worked at the famous Abby Studio’s in London, I am talking Beatles, Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon studio. So when you have someone like that, studio time is not cheap because you get what you pay for and every dollar we have spent in his studio is worth every cent saved. One day I might release what the songs were like before Jerry began arranging them. The structure is always the same, but an added chord, or even just a note here and there can just turn a song into something that little bit better.

So let us raise our glasses to our new fans.

Anyway I think you have probably had enough of my soapbox so next month will be update on the album recording which will be named Violence vrs Violence, and hopefully there will be a film clip for Mr Ginger Bread Man in the pipeline.

Also Jerry the producer/engineering extraordinaire, who can string a guitar and put it in key without a tuner, is in a small, local Perth Western Australian production. Below is the link for the advert. He is actually in an acting role not beneath the gallows of the music pit.
