Orinoco Blog August 2011 “Right, let’s go right back to beginning”
Right, let’s go right back to beginning, not quite as far back as when the Unicorns roamed the earth, or even the Industrial Revolution, hmmm first landing on the Moon no, actually when I think about it, it was even after the passing of Mr Hooper from Sesame Street. I never did get over a grieving Big Bird.
Actually the beginning wasn’t that long ago, mobile phones were in use, and so was the internet.
2002 was the year, twelve songs had been written and recorded badly, and is no longer spoken about between the band members. A waste of money yes probably and nothing brings a tear to an eye more quickly than throwing away cash on c.d. you are completely disappointed in, but then again a skateboard, a hand rail, a cement ramp and two testicles probably would just beat it.
Fast forward to 2011, nine years of rabbit hopping, like a learner driver in a manual car.
Rehearsing.
Writing new songs.
Rehearsing again and playing in empty bars which you may think is a bad thing but hey I have heard an echoing one handed clap nearly shake the walls down.
So here we are back into the swing of things, the first time playing live in a month, even got ourselves a logo, some stickers, t-shirts and some sweat bands and even a website. But where are the songs, well they are coming, their written and rehearsed and they are coming.
