Orinoco- “Just Another Unknown Band”: May 2015
Well here we are in May and I refuse to get sucked into it. I won’t say it even if it kills me. I will say Mayweather won his fight in May against Pacman. There was a boat called the Mayflower, a suburb called Mayfair.I won’t contemplate MAYbe saying it.
So now that I have this off my chest, I should say hello.
I know each month I the history on one of the 12 songs from Viloence Vrs Viloence but today I am going to post a review which was in Rock N Roll View
Orinoco is an amazing hard rock band from Australia that absolutely knows how it’s done. From the upbeat tempo, hardcore guitar and drums to the dynamic lyrics, Orinoco provides a sound that most bands can only hope to achieve. Their music really takes you back to that incredibly popular 90’s grunge metal.
The lyrics are very unique, and the vocals are equally impressive. The guitar and rhythm sections fit well together with the use of some pleasantly surprising instruments such as saxophone and keyboard. There’s a good balance of bass and guitar in the background, and they’re not quite as extreme as death metal-like bands like Slipknot, but they still pack quite a punch. However, they do have the ability to pull it down a notch or two with songs like “Overdue” that have a similar sound to some of the mellower sides of Nirvana and Metallica.
I would be remiss not to give Orinoco 9 out of 10 stars. There’s no doubt in my mind that they will be heard on mainstream radio in no time and become an overnight sensation. I am very much looking forward to their upcoming album, and I’d keep an ear out for these guys because it won’t be long before you’re hearing them everywhere! Amber Lien
Now if I do get some more reviews even if they are bad I have decided to put them on as well. So there you go there is my May blog.
